Newtius!

This is my horizontal shooter. I'm an absolute beginner that just installed GMS2 like two weeks ago (early January 2022).

It does not work on mobile devices as it requires a keyboard.

Currently it's a very unexciting proof-of-concept. If the sound isn't working for the browser version I don't know why yet. I have a zip with a windows exe on the github page if you're interested. That sound effect was kind of the most of interesting thing about it.  Assuming there is anything interesting about it. 

I've been keeping a Devlog of Newtius over on my blog. The first mention of Newtius is in entry 3 and it goes from there. I'm thinking of starting a companion devlog on itch.io but I'm not sure yet.

On a related note, this game is released free and open source under the MIT License. All the files needed to run it via GMS2 are available.
